Wondering where to go this winter? It’s the perfect season to be enchanted by the treasure that is Rajasthan.

The onset of winter sparks wanderlust.

Globetrotting at the end of the year or at the start of the year is a healthy way to recharge. Travel has been known to reduce stress, promote joy and creativity, and enhance body immunity.

It is an unspoken understanding in the global community of travellers that each traveller is unique with a personal style of travelling. Some prefer world-class luxury, some crave to go off the grid, some are born to be wild, some rejoice in solo travel, and there are those who want the best of everything and this particular style would look something like this—adventure but uncompromised privacy, luxurious amenities including comfort food made with love, the thrill of spontaneity with the convenience of connectivity, and the pleasure of slow and deep immersion of experiences.

If that’s your Travel Style, then we would be pleased to meet you.

And we are here to take you to the amazing winter destination of Rajasthan, on our spacious, luxurious Rolling Paradise designed for travellers just like you!

Unlike the scorching heat of summer, winter is the best time to explore Rajasthan as it provides ideal conditions for sightseeing and outdoor activities like safaris and camel rides.

What comes to your mind, when we say Rajasthan—colourful, mysterious, historical, traditional, natural, and not to miss—royal?

We are thinking on the same lines

Rajasthan is a rich tapestry of varied landscapes, in which each city tells a unique story that has stood the tests of time.  We dug out our travel diaries and picked those gems of Rajasthan for your itinerary which would be perfect for a traveller like you who is seeking a unique balance of spontaneity and comfort.

This winter, we have your checklist covered—road trip, home cooked meals, follow the heart, local culture immersion, connection to nature, mind blowing sights, bonding with loved ones and life changing experiences. So, let’s go!

Hop onto the Carawander Rolling Paradise for a journey with enriching experiences, best enjoyed in the privacy of your caravan.

Are you ready? Here we go.

Sleep under the stars on Thar Desert, Jaisalmer

Fall asleep watching the stars twinkling at you, in the comfort of the cosy queen bed in the caravan. Carawander’s Rolling Paradise comes with a sunroof.

Go on a desert safari on the silky dunes of the Thar desert. Camels and jeeps are available on the site. Heads up—it may feel like an outer space expedition. Once you have lost yourself in the enigmatic expanse of the golden dunes, indulge in the thrill of Desert Camping. Open the awning of the caravan, sit around a bonfire, cook out a barbeque, sing songs, share stories, and fill your sketchbook, in the backdrop of the heartwarming traditional Rajasthani lifestyle. When dreams call, enjoy the gift of nature—blue skies and twinkling stars—far from the pollution of busy city roads, from the privacy of our caravan, somewhere on the iconic sands of Thar desert.

Watch the serene sunset at Badi Lake, Udaipur

Enjoy a quiet moment at sunset in the serenity of Badi Lake, one of the cleanest lakes in India. Badi Lake is overlooked by the Aravalli Mountain range. Winter is a comfortable time to travel to Udaipur as it is humid most of the year.

The scenic route to the lake is perfect for cycling. On the way, you will see villages and lush, green landscapes.

Badi Lake is also a lovely spot for picnics. You can go there for lunch or high tea, just in time for the sunset.

Camp on our campsite at the Eyrie Resort at Bari where you get an exclusive area for parking your caravan, and enjoy the pleasures of a pool, garden and rooftop sitting.

See the local, eco-friendly village life of Bishnoi Village, Jodhpur

Explore the village life of the unique community of Bishnoi in the colourful city of Jodhpur. The walled city is famous for its blue buildings but is also home to the Bishnois. The Bishnois are nature worshippers, and their sustainable way of life has led to the creation of a natural habitat for a variety of wildlife species like the antelopes, blackbucks, ghazals and blue bells, visible during the rhythms of daily life.

You can park your caravan at our site at a farmhouse in Bishnoi village. It has spacious parking, an open camping area, and a lush green garden.

Staying close to the village, you can see the Bishnois living their daily life. The health conscious will enjoy the local meals of millets, dal or kadhi and saag.

Immerse in Birdwatching at Surwal Lake, Ranthambore

Pack your binoculars for an outing to watch birds at Surwal Lake. Here, you can experience the satisfaction of a slow day.

A photographer’s paradise, a variety of residential and migratory birds are often spotted. Flamingoes, falcons, black-feathered stilt are found at one place during the daytime.

Summer may be good for frequent spotting of fauna in search of water, but winter is good for being out throughout the day.

From the comfort of our Rolling Paradise, you can make your outing comfortable. Have your snacks and meals from the modern kitchenette in the caravan, use the washroom at your convenience, and rest on the sofa or the bed to take short breaks, and even view from inside the cosiness of the caravan.

Explore the Royal Havelis at Shekhawati, Thar Desert

Shekhawati is a window to the glory of the past. It is the mecca of ancient forts and palaces built by 15th Century Rajasthani royals, which have captured the fascination of international artists, architects, and anthropologists. We advise an itinerary spanning 2-3 days for a satisfactory experience of Haveli Hopping in the modern-day comfort of Carawander caravans. It is said that there are about 2000 magnificent mansions within a radius of 14000 sq km.

Mandawa, a town in Shekhawati, was a small trading stop on the ancient caravan routes connecting China and Middle East. Eventually, traders settled here and the community flourished. Today, it tells the story of the confluence of trade and culture of the time, and of the lives of the affluent Marwari merchants.

The prosperous families brough artists to build their lavish mansions. Here you will find, spectacular havelis embellished with French furniture, Belgian glass, and Japanese tiles. The frescoes have a glorious mix of traditional and mythological motifs, european influence and global imagery of objects like the telephone, train, and airplane that the rich merchants who had started travelling overseas considered as symbols of status. The murals are in vibrant hues of indigo, ochre, lamp black, vermillion which were dyes made from everything from flowers to cow urine.

Heads up—a trip to Shekhawati might feel like a time travel adventure!

Make this winter memorable with these off-beat experiences. Book our luxurious caravan Rolling Paradise, gather your loved ones, pack your bags, and hit the road!
